Dwayne Johnson is stepping back into the world of Paige. However, this time, the spotlight isn’t a ring, it’s a stage.
The 2019 biopic Fighting With My Family is officially being reimagined as a stage musical. This brings wrestling storytelling to a new arena.
The project, developed by Tilted Musicals in collaboration with Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and Stephen Merchant, marks a fresh chapter for a story that already blended grit, family, and a few well-timed near falls.

The original film followed the real-life journey of Paige — Saraya Bevis — and her path to WWE. Acclaimed actor Florence Pugh portrayed the WWE Tag Team Champion.
Now, that story is being adapted with book and lyrics by Olivier Award winner Jon Brittain, alongside a new soundtrack from Miranda Cooper and Nick Coler.
Merchant, who wrote and directed the film, said the transition feels natural. “I always thought of it like a musical… each wrestling match like a different dance number, building to a big show-stopping finale.”
Johnson echoed that sentiment, noting the unique fit between wrestling and live theatre. “Fighting With My Family feels exceptionally well-suited for the stage,” he said. “It’s packed with personal emotion… wrestling has always been about storytelling and connecting with a live audience.”
The production will be the first major project from Tilted Musicals, with backing from Kevin Misher and Birmingham Hippodrome. Early development is underway, with plans for workshops ahead of a potential debut in 2027.
The announcement comes shortly after Paige’s in-ring return at WrestleMania 42, adding another layer to her story — one now set to play out under stage lights instead of arena spotlights.
As WWE continues to expand beyond the ring, this adaptation shows the company isn’t just calling matches — it’s calling acts.
