Upcoming WWE debutee Lizzy Rain shares an interesting link to one of the most popular heavy metal bands.
Next week, Lizzy Rain (formerly known as Rayne Leverkusen on the indies) has vowed to bring her heavy metal energy to WWE in her official NXT debut. Turns out, her connection to the music genre actually runs quite deep. One would say it’s simply in her nature.
“My uncle is Clive Burr, who was the original drummer for Iron Maiden and was on their first three albums, their most famous album, The Number of the Beast,” Rain told the Wrestling With Johners Podcast in a 2023 interview. “He was the drummer on it, so yeah, a big connection to Iron Maiden. He’s unfortunately dead now. He died at quite a young age of an illness called MS. So I didn’t really get to have these amazing conversations with him about the band and stuff because he was quite ill when I knew him. But yeah, that’s a pretty cool connection. It must run in my family, this whole rock music thing.”
Burr died in 2013 at the age of 57 due to complications related to multiple sclerosis. Nevertheless, Rain has kept her family’s love of rock music alive through her pro wrestling persona, attached with “The Maiden of Metal” nickname.
As of this writing, Rain’s WWE debut opponent is unclear. WWE announced her as a part of the latest Performance Center recruits last month.
