TNA iMPACT Results
We see Rich Swann and Mike Santana arriving at the arena ahead of their TNA Wrestling World Championship match.
Ryan Nemeth joins the A-Game Hydration commentary desk to call the opening match of the night, featuring his BIG BROTHER Nic Nemeth and The System’s Bear Bronson.
Nic Nemeth vs. Bear Bronson (with The System)
- The finish of the match saw Nic Nemeth plant Bear Bronson with a superkick, followed by the Danger Zone for the win.
Winner: Nic Nemeth
Grade: B+
Solid start to TNA iMPACT!. Ryan Nemeth may have a punchable face, but he was entertaining on commentary. KC Navarro’s distraction allowed Nic Nemeth to pick up the win. The question now is whether Nic will choose Navarro for a potential tag team title shot against The System or stick with his little brother as his partner.
We hear from Rich Swann
Swann addresses his upcoming world title match with Mike Santana. He says this is what he has worked so hard for. Swann tells BDE to stay in the back and take notes because he doesn’t want any distractions or anyone claiming he needed help when he beats Santana for the title. BDE cheers on “Unc,” but Swann quickly shuts it down, telling him not to call him that, which causes Gia Miller to briefly break character.
Tom Hannifan asks TNA fans to check out Threads of Triumph, a book by ring announcer McKenzie Mitchell that documents some of pro wrestling’s most iconic looks.
Sing with Kazarian?
Elijah’s music hits, but it’s actually Frankie Kazarian dressed in his rival’s gear. Kazarian nails both the look and the impression. He takes center stage and cuts a promo on Elijah and the Syracuse crowd, referencing his victory over Elijah at TNA Rebellion. He says Elijah has a case of the blues and invites the crowd to join him for a song titled “Kaz Is My Daddy.”
Before Kazarian can begin, the lights go out, and the sound of a guitar echoes through the arena. When the lights come back on, Elijah is standing behind him. “The Drifter” chokes Kazarian out and takes over the concert. He teases a Guitar Strap Match with Kazarian, but since Kaz can’t respond, Elijah instead gets the crowd involved, leading them in a chant: “Syracuse knows, Frankie blows.”
EC3 addresses Eric Young’s attack
We see EC3 backstage with a chair still wrapped around his neck from last week’s attack by Eric Young. EC3 cuts a promo on Young, making it clear that their rivalry is far from over, as he is on a crusade. He tells EY that he will go through him to reclaim his status as the top one percent of TNA Wrestling.
TNA Lockdown teaser
A teaser for TNA Lockdown airs during TNA iMPACT!, confirming the iconic PPV’s return for the first time since 2016. The event is set to emanate from Chicago on August 23.
Huge match teased for TNA iMPACT next week
Tessa Blanchard, Victoria Crawford, and Mila Moore are backstage. Blanchard says they need to talk about their visit to the Undead Realm, which shouldn’t be real, but apparently is. Moore says she felt scared, while Crawford jokes that she enjoyed her stay. Blanchard shuts it down, saying it’s no time for jokes, and issues a challenge to the team of Rosemary, Allie, and Mara Sade for next week’s TNA iMPACT!.
Matt Hardy vs. Dutch
Matt Hardy makes his way to the ring but stops on the ramp to pull out a table and spray-paint “Sacrifice” on it, while commentary notes that the match is being contested under traditional rules. Hardy then enters the ring, but Dutch immediately strikes first as the referee calls for the opening bell.
Matt Hardy sets up Dutch for an elbow drop through the table. Hardy connects with the move, but the table doesn’t fully break — only one of its joints gives way. The crowd chants “one more time,” and Hardy obliges, driving Dutch through the table with a suplex.
Vincent appears and distracts the referee by sliding a chair into the ring. As the referee turns to remove it, Vincent attacks Matt Hardy, giving Dutch the opening to hit “Death Walks” on Hardy for the win.
After the match, Dutch continues the assault on Matt while Vincent watches from a chair inside the ring. The situation escalates when Jeff Hardy rushes out to the ring. He takes down Dutch with a Twist of Fate before following up with a Swanton Bomb.
As Jeff checks on his brother, Vincent is seen laughing from the outside, teasing another match between The Hardys and The Righteous.
Winner: Dutch
Grade: B-
The table clearly wanted no part of the animosity between Matt Hardy and Dutch. Hardy looked banged up after delivering the elbow drop earlier in the match.
Given how things are between The Hardys and The Righteous, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before this rivalry escalates into a cinematic match between the two teams.
The Elegance Brand backstage segment
The Elegance Brand are seen backstage pleading with Daria Rae. Mr. Elegance shows off his chiselled physique as The Personal Concierge asks “The S.U.I.T.” to grant Mr. Elegance a singles match next week on TNA iMPACT!.
Daria Rae agrees to their request without asking any questions. As The Elegance Brand walks away, she is left wondering what she has just gotten herself into.
Trey Miguel injury update
According to a Bioflex medical report, Trey Miguel suffered what was initially announced during the show as a laceration in his right knee, but the real injury has since been revealed to be a broken kneecap during his TNA Rebellion International Championship match against Mustafa Ali.
Despite the severity of the injury, Miguel powered through to complete the match. However, he ultimately dropped the title to Ali at the April 11 pay-per-view event.
Angel Warriors no more
We are expecting Xia Brookside to address her actions from TNA Rebellion, but Lei Ying Lee interrupts and makes her way to the ring.
Lei Ying Lee apologizes to the crowd for her English, but the fans encourage her. She becomes emotional while speaking about her love for wrestling before calling out Xia Brookside.
Brookside then appears with a new look, symbolizing her heel turn, although she still enters to her old theme music for some reason. She immediately tells Lee how dare she call her out, blaming her for failing to defeat Arianna Grace for the Knockouts Championship at Rebellion. Brookside also claims that even her father, Robbie Brookside, never supported her wrestling journey.
Lei Ying Lee responds in her native language, but Brookside refuses to translate. Lee says Brookside talks about being alone, but it was actually Lee who felt alone after coming to the United States from China until she found her best friend in Xia Brookside.
The emotional moment causes a shift in Brookside’s tone. She admits the title meant everything to her but says she let distractions from NXT’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo get in her head. The two embrace in the ring.
However, Brookside suddenly stares into the hard camera and attacks Lee with a forearm strike, followed by a modified Impaler DDT. She then shouts, “We are done,” at her former best friend as referees rush in to separate the situation.
Elayna Black vs. Katie Arquette
- The finish of the match saw Elayna Black plant Katie Arquette with the Blackout for the win.
Winner: Elayna Black
Grade: Unavailable
Another showcase win for Elayna Black, who appears poised to be the next TNA Wrestling Knockouts World Champion. That said, this writer believes Indi Hartwell deserves a title shot before Black fully takes over the Knockouts Division.
As for Black’s opponent, she faced Katie Arquette — cousin of former WCW Champion David Arquette for those not in the know. Katie previously competed in a Knockouts Championship number one contender’s battle royal over a year ago on TNA iMPACT.
Mustafa Ali’s International Title Summit
Mustafa Ali welcomes a group of indie wrestlers to his International Championship summit, stating that one of them will earn an opportunity to challenge him for the title next week on TNA iMPACT!.
Ali and the rest of Order 4 look toward a screen that cycles through flags of different countries before “randomly” stopping on Australia, which John Skyler mistakenly identifies as the flag of New Zealand.
A voice from the back — clearly that of Indi Hartwell — echoes through the room, declaring that the country of Australia selects Adam Brooks. Ali then welcomes Brooks to join him on stage and congratulates him on earning the opportunity.
Brooks says he is looking forward to the contest, then turns around and calls Ali an Australian slang term, leaving Ali confused as he questions what the phrase means.
Mike Santana (c) vs. Rich Swann – TNA World Title Match
- The finish of the match saw Mike Santana hit Rich Swann with Spin the Block for the win.
Winner and still TNA World Champion: Mike Santana
After the match, both men show respect to each other. Daria Rae, filling in for Carlos Silva, then places the TNA Wrestling World Championship on Mike Santana’s shoulder.
Santana has a funny look on his face upon seeing Daria Rae wearing Carlos Silva’s cap.
Grade: A+
An excellent main event contest between Mike Santana and Rich Swann for the TNA Wrestling World Championship.
The crowd acknowledged their performance with “This is awesome” chants and gave a standing ovation after the bout ended. Swann can be one of the best wrestlers in the world on any given night. As for Santana, he can hold his own with the very best in the industry.
I agree with Tom Hannifan when he said this is a TNA match of the year candidate.
Overall Grade: B-
Overall, this episode earns a B- rating, with the Elijah–Kazarian segment and the world title main event standing out as the highlights of the night.
The segment between Frankie Kazarian and Elijah was a major highlight, with Kazarian’s impression of Elijah being both terrific and humorous. It added another entertaining layer to an already engaging feud.
Matt Hardy vs. Dutch was serviceable but ultimately average. However, it did effectively continue the ongoing feud between The Hardys and The Righteous.
The Angel Warriors segment was particularly weak. There was a lot of passive-aggressive behavior from Xia Brookside, who still doesn’t come across as a believable heel. It also raised questions about production choices, especially why TNA Wrestling didn’t change her theme song to better reflect her new character direction.
On the other hand, Lei Ying Lee carried the segment with a strong performance, selling it in a way that felt like she was aiming for a Hollywood audition. Her acting brought a layer of realism to the segment, especially given her real-life background adjusting to the United States and her on-screen bond with Brookside.
The main event delivered some excellent back-and-forth action between Mike Santana and Rich Swann, keeping the crowd engaged throughout and giving the show a strong closing stretch.
That’s it for tonight’s show. This writer will be back with full TNA iMPACT! coverage next Thursday.
