Cody Rhodes Seemingly Tells TKO to Mind Their Business on WWE SmackDown

The April 24 episode of SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas, saw Cody Rhodes address more than just his in-ring rivals. He delivered a message that appeared to extend beyond the ropes — and possibly beyond WWE itself.

Still carrying visible damage from WrestleMania 42, Rhodes entered with a black eye and a clear point to prove.

While he acknowledged the physical toll of his clash with Randy Orton, he made it equally clear that staying down was never part of the script — even if someone backstage might have tried to rewrite it.

Cody Rhodes calls out TKO influence after WrestleMania 42

Rhodes used the moment to reflect on his WrestleMania outcome. The WWE Champion stressed that walking up the ramp after the match wasn’t survival — it was a statement. Orton may have taken his best shot. However, the champion is still standing, still holding the Undisputed WWE Championship, and still writing his own ending.

The promo came after his successful title defense against the Viper. Nevertheless, the bigger talking point was the growing pattern of outside involvement in his WrestleMania moments. This year, Pat McAfee’s presence — reportedly tied to a decision from TKO CEO Ari Emanuel — added to a list of similar situations. In previous years, TKO board member Dwayne Johnson was linked to high-profile additions, including Travis Scott’s involvement in WrestleMania 41 and earlier interference around WrestleMania 40. With that context, Rhodes’ “0-3” remark toward those outside forces carried extra weight, even if results haven’t always gone fully in his favor.

In a line that landed like a verbal finisher. Rhodes told those figures to “sit down, count your money, and mind your own business.” For WWE fans, it was less a pipe bomb and more a carefully aimed Cross Rhodes — direct, deliberate, and hard to ignore.

Rhodes also took a moment to address Sami Zayn, leaning into the “golden boy” label by embracing it. According to him, success isn’t luck — it’s legacy, family, and fans, all wrapped in gold.

With Orton absent from the show and tensions still simmering, Rhodes extended an open challenge across Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. The message was simple — he’s easy to find, but beating him is another story.

As WWE continues to blur the line between storyline and reality, Rhodes’ comments add another layer to a narrative that’s becoming harder to script and even harder to control.
