Raquel Rodriguez opened up about her current WWE character and shared why being a heel feels more natural to her.
Rodriguez has played both roles during her WWE run. She started as a strong babyface on the main roster. That version showed fans saw her as a positive, dominant presence. Now, things look very different. She is part of The Judgment Day alongside Liv Morgan. The role has shifted her into a heel character.
She has also been part of major storylines recently. Rodriguez feuded with Stephanie Vaquer over the WWE Women’s World Championship. That kept her in a strong position on the roster. Recently, Rodriguez spoke about that experience. She explained why this version connects more with her.
Raquel Rodriguez says her heel persona feels more like herself
Speaking on the Michael Fairman Channel, Rodriguez explained her thoughts. She talked about her past babyface run as well. That version was more like a superhero-style character.
“It was an interesting time when they had me in that badass supergirl era. Thank you, I love that term for her. She was a badass supergirl era. If anyone was going to be Wonder Woman on WWE, it would be Raquel Rodriguez. RR. I did like it. It was fun, you know, getting to be a good guy, being able to, like, hug kids and interact with them in a nice way and know that they look up to me that way.”
“There’s something about being this Raquel Rodriguez that feels like the most authentic version to myself even though I don’t think I’m like this, I like children, yes. I’m not gonna like yell at you guys, you know.”
“But I like to tease and I like to have fun with every situation, and so this version of Raquel Rodriguez, she is a badass and that’s me in real life, and I think like me being the jokester that I am and just being me has really given me a new light, and I just love her more, and I don’t want to go back to the cool supergirl that I was.” [H/T: Fightful]
