Recently Released WWE Star Announces Their Retirement From Wrestling

This WWE star is closing the door on his pro wrestling career.

The wrestling fraternity continues to witness the fallout from WWE’s mass releases. On April 24, the sports entertainment giant let go of several main roster and developmental talents.

While WWE did not officially confirm the releases, multiple wrestling outlets reported the news. Among the notable names released were Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, and Santos Escobar.

Several NXT stars were also part of the cuts, including Andre Chase, Dante Chen, and Luca Crusifino. It now appears that Crusifino will not be returning to the ring, as he has officially decided to retire from professional wrestling.

Sharing the update on Twitter/X, the former Consigliere reflected on his journey and confirmed that he is stepping away from the business. He explained that after giving it considerable thought, he feels this is the right time to move on from wrestling. He described his WWE run as a lifelong dream fulfilled and expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to perform on such a stage.

Former WWE star Luca Crusifino thanks fans for support

Crusifino thanked fans for their support throughout his career, noting that their reactions made his experience truly special. He also acknowledged the relationships he built during his time in WWE, from fellow wrestlers to coaches and staff at the Performance Center, crediting them for helping him grow both personally and professionally.

He admitted that the decision to retire was difficult but ultimately necessary. While closing this chapter, he made it clear that he is not saying goodbye entirely, just moving on to the next phase of his life. Ending on a light note, he reassured fans that he will figure things out and jokingly dismissed any speculation about joining OnlyFans.

Luca Crusifino, whose real name is Roman Macek, previously played football for the Duquesne Dukes before signing with WWE in 2022. He incorporated his real-life law school background into his wrestling persona and later became part of The D’Angelo Family as their legal representative. After eventually parting ways with the group, he was repackaged for WWE EVOLVE under a new gimmick shortly before his release. His final match on WWE EVOLVE aired on April 22, 2026.
