Ric Flair is trying to move past his recent controversy by apologizing and asking everyone to stay positive after his statement about Ludwig Kaiser and his recent WWE claims. After facing backlash following WrestleMania weekend, the Hall of Famer has now changed his tone and wants people to move on.
This whole situation started after Flair spoke on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he said he felt disrespected by WWE. He claimed he didn’t receive an invitation to WrestleMania 42 because of an issue involving Kaiser in 2025.
According to Flair, the problem started when he had a heated moment with Kaiser during a time when his daughter, Charlotte Flair, was involved in a storyline with Tiffany Stratton, who was reportedly dating Kaiser then. At the time, Stratton made some indirect remarks about Charlotte’s failed marriage, which invited some heat. Following that, Ric Flair admitted that he contacted Kaiser and threatened him, and he believes that situation affected WWE’s relationship with him.
In that same interview, Flair also criticized WWE, saying there is “too much politics” now. He was upset about missing WrestleMania-related events, including Stephanie McMahon’s Hall of Fame induction and a possible chance to induct Dennis Rodman. Flair said he felt disrespected, especially considering everything he has done in wrestling.
Ric Flair says he ‘made assumptions that are incorrect’ in new statement
But recently, Flair posted an apology to Ludwig Kaiser on X. He said he never meant to question Kaiser’s skills. He admitted that his reaction was emotional, mainly because he is very protective of his family. He also said he has heard good things about Kaiser’s work and wished him success moving forward.
Later, in another tweet, Flair repeated his apology and also asked people online to be more respectful. He talked about the criticism he received and said he wants less negativity on social media. He also mentioned his age and health, saying he just wants peace and positivity now.
“I Have Apologized, And I Have Retracted Statements. I Have Made Assumptions That Are Incorrect. I Acknowledge Everything That I Have Said. Can We Just Wake Up Tomorrow & Let Ric Flair Be Ric Flair. I Am 77 With A Heart Condition And Nothing Is Ever Guaranteed. Let’s Just All Be At Peace! If You Look At Social Media, People Love To Attack Every Celebrity Online Without Using Their Real Name. I’m Ric Flair. Take Me For Who I Am. The People Who Know Me Know How Hard I’ve Worked My Entire Life To Achieve My Level Of Success. That Is Not Up For Debate. Thank You For Everything! Please Let Me Wake Up Tomorrow And Have My Social Media Screen Be Only Positives. I’m Always Going To Be A Cowboy! WOOOOO!” Flair wrote.
For Kaiser, who is doing well in wrestling, this apology might help put the issue behind him. And for Flair, the reactions to his tweets remain polarizing.
