Chris Jericho‘s acting resume continues to grow.
Ahead of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite episode in Virginia, reports indicated that former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho would not be in attendance for the broadcast as he was filming a different television project in New York City. Getty Images has since confirmed that project to be Dexter: Resurrection.
Per photos snapped by Jose Perez and Bauer-Griffin, Jericho was on set of Dexter: Resurrection to film a scene with the series’ lead, Michael C. Hall, on April 29. The images show Hall walking up behind Jericho in an alley, surprising him with a weapon, and then dragging him away.
The context surrounding the scenes is unclear, but they do suggest Jericho having a guest starring role of some sort for the show’s upcoming season two. The premiere date for season two has yet to be announced.
Dexter: Resurrection is a crime drama series acting as a sequel to Dexter and Dexter: New Blood, which each starred Hall as Dexter Morgan. Other notable cast members include Uma Thurman as Charley Brown, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and Kadia Saraf as Claudette Wallace.
Recently, Jericho secured a role as himself on Margo’s Got Money Troubles, an Apple TV+ series which stars Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman. Earlier this month, Jericho returned to AEW programming to start a rivalry with former National Champion Ricochet. Ricochet defeated Jericho at the 2026 Dynasty pay-per-view, then once more in tag team competition on Collision.
