A WWE legend has stepped away from the wrestling training school he started in 2009.
WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi took to X/Twitter to announce that he’s taking a leave from Knokx Pro Entertainment & Academy, a wrestling school and promotion he launched in 2009. He expressed love and respect for the academy while requesting understanding for his personal decision “to rest.”
“Love and respect KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy. As I take my leave, I appreciate your understanding and respect for my decision to rest now. KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy,” the WWE legend posted.
KnokX Pro Academy was named as a WWE ID school when the promotion launched the program back in October 2024. However, WWE dropped the school from the program after it found itself at the center of controversy in August 2025 when Rampage Jackson’s son, Raja Jackson, attacked and legitimately knocked out a wrestler named Syko Stu in a planned spot that went too far.
Rikishi praises Dominik Mysterio’s growth and authentic character in WWE
Speaking on his Fatu Off The Top podcast, Rikishi shared high praise for Dominik Mysterio, highlighting his growth in WWE, and credited his family for shaping him into who he is today. He also pointed out the pressure Dominik faces in carrying the Mysterio legacy. He then added that Eddie Guerrero would’ve played a huge role in his career if he were still alive.
“Well, he’s definitely smart. He’s definitely talented in the ring. I’m sure he’s talented in and out of the squared circle. Knowing the legacy that he comes from, with his father, he’s very well surrounded by people that, number one, care for him; number two, that [are] not going to hold back anything but the truth to him when it comes in this squared circle and in this business,” the WWE Hall of Famer said.
“You know, being a part of the family member, to carry that Mysterio name, that’s some weight. I mean, we know his father is just one of the greatest of all time in Lucha Libre. If Eddie was alive today, he’d be right there, you know, molding this kid, as far as the route that they see. I feel Dom found himself. He’s so comfortable. It don’t even feel like a gimmick anymore,” the WWE legend said.
