WWE’s search for the next generation of talent could soon include a familiar last name.
A son of one of the company’s legendary stars has officially earned a tryout during SummerSlam weekend after impressing with his athletic background and wrestling training.
The opportunity marks another step in a journey that began years ago with childhood visits backstage at WWE events.
Now, instead of watching from the sidelines, he’s preparing for a chance to step into the spotlight.
Tatanka confirms Joseph’s WWE SummerSlam tryout
WWE Hall of Fame-era star Tatanka revealed on social media that his son, Joseph, has received an official WWE tryout during SummerSlam weekend.
Sharing photos of Joseph and his younger brother Jeremiah, Tatanka reflected on how far they’ve come, writing, “So proud of our boys! There’s nothing you both can not accomplish!”
He added that the brothers have gone from visiting WWE premium live events and meeting stars like The Usos to training at Dungeon 2.0 alongside Natalya, TJ Wilson, Rey Mysterio, and other wrestling veterans.
Tatanka confirmed, “Joseph has received an official try-out at SUMMERSLAM and Jeremiah will be right behind him since he’s only 17 years old currently.”
The WWE legend also highlighted their athletic accomplishments. According to Tatanka, Joseph is “an elite football player and State Runner Up in Powerlifting,” while Jeremiah, still a sophomore in high school, has already captured a state wrestling championship along with three national titles.
He concluded by noting that WWE described them as “exactly what they’re looking for.”
Joseph’s tryout comes as WWE continues to recruit athletes from a variety of sporting backgrounds.
With SummerSlam weekend expected to feature another round of talent evaluations, he’ll have the opportunity to show whether he can follow in his father’s footsteps. It may be too early to call it another undefeated streak, but the first hurdle has already been cleared.
