Jake Paul says his boxing future is in doubt due to the broken jaw he sustained in the Anthony Joshua fight.
Boxer, influencer, and WWE Superstar Logan Paul’s brother, Jake Paul, suffered a broken jaw in his knockout loss against Anthony Joshua in December 2025. He underwent surgery to have two titanium plates fitted in his mouth and have some teeth removed.
During his recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Jake Paul opened up about his recovery and expressed uncertainty about his boxing future.
“Yeah, I’m getting some new scans here in a couple of days of the jaw to get an update on the healing process. We’ll see what my doctors say. I think I’ll be able to get a more accurate time frame, or can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm and possibilities of things,” Jake Paul began.
Jake Paul says his boxing future depends on how his jawbone heals
“It does feel a lot better as weeks go by and time goes by. But I definitely need to get cleared first to be able to spar. But I’m sort of staying in shape. I’m always in the gym pretty much regardless. So just staying in shape and enjoying some mitt work,” Jake Paul continued.
When asked if his fighting future was in doubt, Jake Paul said, “Yeah, no, most definitely. I think it just depends on how the bone heals, and then also there’s a tooth missing here (on the right). I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have to get an implanted tooth of some sort. I don’t know how much time that’s gonna add to things, but we just have to see and figure out what the smartest thing is for me.”
Despite his fighting career on hold, Jake Paul continues to stay busy, as his Most Valuable Promotions banner will host an MMA supercard on Netflix on Saturday, May 16. The card is headlined by Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey, who is making her first MMA appearance in nearly a decade.
