WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett recently opened up about how running TNA Wrestling created major problems within his family, especially with his father, Jerry Jarrett. The father and son co-founded TNA in 2002, but tensions eventually grew behind the scenes as the company expanded.
The struggles connected to TNA created a serious real-life rift between them that lasted for years. The situation reportedly also affected Jeff’s relationships with other family members during that period.
The story will now be explored in the upcoming season of Dark Side of the Ring. Season 7 of the series will feature a three-part episode focused on Jeff Jarrett and the rise and turmoil of TNA Wrestling, including the company’s backstage issues and missed opportunities.
Jeff Jarrett reflects on how TNA’s highs and lows affected his relationship with his father
Speaking on My World With Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett discussed the emotional experience of revisiting that difficult chapter of his life ahead of the documentary release. He said, “I think there’s definitely a story that goes without saying.”
“You know, I had thoughts over the last week, too, that, you know, my dad to get his thoughts on it because, you know, he was very aware of the highs and lows that that venture that we started in O2 put a real rift between us in the worst kind of way, but we came through it as father and son and out the other end.”
“And I hate to say, lived to tell about it. So, in a real positive deal. So, I’m excited for it to come out. I think it’s a real opportunity to kind of tell the story.”
Dark Side of the Ring Season 7 premieres on Vice TV on July 7, 2026, and will feature a detailed three-part look at Jeff Jarrett’s journey with TNA Wrestling.
