Ronda Rousey Calls Gina Carano Fight on Netflix A Dream Way To End Career

Ronda Rousey is set to step back into the octagon to face off against Gina Carano this weekend. Ahead of the highly anticipated match, Rousey says it’s a dream ending for her career.

During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN, Rousey spoke about her future, and whether she was okay with this match behind her last. According to Rousey, she’s loving it more than ever, but knows that this is her final match in the ring, and is happy with that.

“I’m definitely loving it more than ever before,” Rousey said. “There’s definitely been people trying to convince me to continue because there’s a lot of money to be made, but I feel like this is the absolute peak for me. This is my dream fight. This is the way that I always wanted to end it and go out.”

On the topic of fighting, though, Rousey says she isn’t entirely ready to step away from the sport. The legend talked about how she’s realized she might have a great opportunity to stick around in a promotion role moving forward.

“I’ve been training for the last year and a half, basically from six weeks after I had my last baby. As soon as I was cleared to go, I’ve been training,” Rousey said. “It’s actually felt incredible, this is what my body is meant to do. I’ve been an athlete since I was six years old, so being sedentary is almost worse for me. So, I’ve never felt healthier, never felt better.”

Rousey and Carano will headline the card for MVP MMA, which takes place on Saturday at 9pm EST, from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
