Kevin Owens once again showed why fans love his personality during the latest episode of WWE LFG. While giving ring gear advice to rising WWE prospect Tate Wilder, Owens delivered a funny, brutally honest response that became one of the episode’s highlights.
Wilder has quickly become one of WWE’s more promising young talents. The “Modern Day Cowboy” came through WWE’s NIL program and has an athletic look and good in-ring potential.
Wilder has already started getting attention in WWE Evolve and NXT. He recently competed on WWE LFG Season Three Episode Four against Chris Island and won the match.
Kevin Owens jokes about giving ring gear advice
The moment happened when Wilder asked Owens for feedback about his entrance gear. Wilder wanted to know if ripping open his vest during his entrance was a good idea. Instead of giving a serious veteran-style answer, Owens joked about how different they look physically.
“Here’s why I can’t give you my honest opinion. If I looked like you, I would never have a shirt on. I don’t look like you, so I have a shirt on all the time. So I would say vest open. Maybe the reveal is better, I don’t know,” Owens said.
Owens kept the joke going as he offered another hilarious take.
“I can’t relate to this. I have never lived this way. If I looked like you, I would never have a shirt on. I don’t look like you, so I wear a shirt all the time.”
It’s classic Kevin Owens. Instead of acting overly serious or pretending to be an expert, he leaned into the joke and made fun of himself in a relatable way.
The segment also reminded fans why Kevin Owens connects so well with audiences. Throughout his career, Owens never looked like the aesthetic bodybuilding-style wrestler. Instead, he became successful because of his promos, intensity, and wrestling ability. His sleeveless shirt and gym shorts became part of his identity.
Ironically, Kevin Owens has slimmed down noticeably while recovering from neck fusion surgery.
