WWE‘s Sol Ruca explains how surfing helps her become a better wrestler.
During her recent appearance on Ringer Wrestling, new WWE RAW star Sol Ruca opened up about her surfing hobby. Ruca noted that she hasn’t been surfing as often as she used to due to her busy schedule, but does try to get out there, as it helps her to decompress and step out of the wrestling world for a bit.
“Honestly, I’ve been slacking. It has been really hard. I’ve been very, very busy these past couple months, honestly. I honestly just try and go as much as I can. But, I mean, even like Florida’s not the best for surfing. So it’s not great. But, I mean, I try and get out there. It’s my way to decompress and just like step out of the wrestling world for a bit,” Sol Ruca said.
Sol Ruca explained how surfing helps her in wrestling
When asked, apart from the mental benefits, how surfing helps her physically and in her wrestling, Sol Ruca said it improves her balance and core strength. She also likened waves to the unpredictability of wrestling, saying that surfing helps her become more adaptable and stay ready for anything in the ring.
“It definitely helps, like your balance and stuff, and definitely like core. Also, waves, they’re unpredictable. So, it’s a great way to be ready for anything.
“I feel like wrestling is just like that. You never know what’s going to happen. Things don’t go as planned. Things aren’t always perfect in the ring. Same with surfing. Waves are different every single time you go out. So I think that helps me be adaptable and ready for anything,” Sol Ruca said.
