AEW’s MVP Claims Triple H Ignored Bobby Lashley Before WWE Exit

MVP has opened up about the backstage frustrations that reportedly led to both him and Bobby Lashley leaving WWE, and he did not hold back while discussing his issues with Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

Speaking on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze, MVP claimed repeated attempts to communicate with WWE’s Chief Content Officer went nowhere.

According to MVP, those conversations — or lack of them — eventually convinced The Hurt Business allies that their future was elsewhere.

MVP details frustrations with Triple H before AEW move

MVP directly addressed his feelings toward Triple H during the interview, saying, “I don’t like Triple H, I think he’s a coward and a liar. There were multiple times I tried to talk to Triple H, and he would always say, ‘I’ll get with you in a little bit.’”

He also claimed Lashley struggled to get answers about his creative direction despite being a former WWE Champion. “Bobby couldn’t get Triple H on the phone. Triple H wouldn’t give Bobby any one on one time,” MVP said. “Bobby wanted to talk to Triple H about, ‘Hey, what’s my direction? What am I doing here?’ But Triple H always had something come up.”

MVP explained that those issues became the turning point while the group sat in catering waiting for direction. He recalled telling Lashley, “‘Dog, I’m not going to re-sign. Don’t re-sign either. You, me, and Shelton should go to AEW. Let’s go.’”

According to MVP, Lashley initially hesitated because WWE was paying him well, but eventually agreed with the idea. “It finally got to the point where Bobby was like, ‘Yeah, you’re right. There’s no future here for us.’”

MVP also pushed back on suggestions that WWE chose to move on from them. “So my contract ran out. Bobby’s contract ran out. We chose not to re-sign. Contrary to what some people might say, that was our decision.”

The trio later reunited in AEW as The Hurt Syndicate, proving the group still had plenty left in the tank — and perhaps a few receipts left to settle as well.
