Jade Cargill found herself at the center of a hostile crowd reaction during the final episode of WWE SmackDown before Clash in Italy 2026.
The former AEW star opened the show alongside B-Fab and Michin, but the Barcelona audience quickly made its feelings known before the segment could fully unfold.
With a major championship opportunity looming this weekend, Cargill attempted to address the crowd and build momentum.
Instead, the WWE Universe turned the volume up and forced the company into an unexpected production adjustment.
Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley confrontation draws hostile crowd reaction
The opening segment took place at the Palau Olímpic de Badalona in Barcelona, Spain. Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin entered following their victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where they defeated Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Rhea Ripley in six-woman tag team action.
As Cargill began speaking, the crowd responded with loud boos and chants. The situation escalated when fans started chanting “Shut the f**k up,” prompting WWE to censor the broadcast audio.
The crowd continued to drown out portions of the segment, making it clear that Cargill and her allies were not getting a warm reception.
The confrontation intensified when Ripley interrupted. The WWE Women’s Champion fired back at her upcoming challenger, accusing Cargill of relying on others to reach the top. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss then joined the exchange, further raising the temperature ahead of Clash in Italy.
The segment soon led to an impromptu match between Cargill and Bliss after SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the bout official. Even during the contest, fans continued directing chants toward Cargill.
However, despite the crowd’s opposition, Cargill had the last laugh. She defeated Bliss with Jaded and then added insult to injury by delivering another Jaded onto a steel chair after the match. It was a statement performance that ensured she heads into Clash in Italy with momentum firmly on her side.
Now, with Rhea Ripley waiting in Turin, Cargill will look to turn crowd noise into championship gold. Whether the fans cheer or boo, The Storm is clearly making her presence felt.
