Charlotte Flair’s Assist Leads to Rhea Ripley Victory at WWE Clash in Italy

Rhea Ripley retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy, thanks to Charlotte Flair.

After losing the title to her at WWE WrestleMania 42, Jade Cargill returned on the May 8 episode of SmackDown and attacked Rhea Ripley. She challenged Ripley to a rematch at Clash in Italy on the May 15 edition of the blue brand, which the latter accepted the following week.

Jade Cargill walked into Clash in Italy with the advantage after getting a pinfall victory over Rhea Ripley in a six-woman tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cargill dominated the early stages of the match, overpowering Ripley inside and outside the ring.

However, Rhea Ripley started to gain the advantage after moving out of the way when Cargill attempted a standing elbow drop. The match continued as they exchanged punches in the middle of the ring, countered each other’s finisher attempts, and had multiple near falls.

Jade Cargill had reinforcements, but Charlotte Flair had Rhea Ripley’s back

After Jade Cargill kicked out after taking a superplex from Rhea Ripley, Michin and B-Fab made their way out. Despite the interference, Ripley had Cargill down with a Riptide, but B-Fab grabbed the Storm’s foot and placed it on the bottom rope to break the count (technically, Cargill herself did it after B-Fab failed to do it on time).

As Rhea Ripley targeted B-Fab and Michin outside the ring, Charlotte Flair appeared and took them out. She then placed Ripley’s foot on the rope after Jade Cargill had her down with a Jaded. The Eradicator used the aid to her advantage to perform the Riptide on Cargill to score the pinfall and retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
