WWE Star Taken Out in Brutal Backstage Attack on NXT

Chaos erupted backstage on the June 2 episode of WWE NXT when a rising star was blindsided during what began as a routine interview segment.

The shocking ambush added another chapter to an increasingly volatile situation involving one of the brand’s most dangerous factions.

The incident unfolded shortly after Jackson Drake defeated Tate Wilder with a 450 Splash, shifting attention away from the ring and into a backstage area that quickly descended into mayhem.

DarkState leaves Jasper Troy laid out backstage at WWE NXT

During a backstage interview, NXT General Manager Robert Stone was discussing plans for the upcoming Great American Bash when tensions started to rise. Osiris Griffin interrupted the conversation to complain about a cancelled match. He insisted that he and Dion Lennox were ready to compete.

Moments later, Jasper Troy entered the scene and exchanged words with Griffin. Before the confrontation could develop any further, Troy was suddenly struck from behind with a steel chair. The attack knocked over a camera operator and temporarily obscured the identity of those responsible.

When another camera arrived on the scene, the damage had already been done.

DarkState had torn through the area, wrecked Stone’s office, and left Jasper Troy lying backstage. The attack sent a clear message that the faction remains focused on causing destruction wherever it sees fit.

The assault comes at a turbulent time for DarkState. The group recently failed to regain the NXT Tag Team Championships from The Vanity Project and subsequently turned on former member Saquon Shugars, blaming him for their setbacks.

Since then, Shugars has repeatedly targeted the faction in retaliation, creating a powder keg of conflict across NXT.

Rather than retreating, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, and Cutler James appear determined to double down. By targeting a powerhouse like the 340-pound Jasper Troy, DarkState showed that size isn’t a shield and nobody is getting a free pass.

With Great American Bash approaching, the faction’s latest backstage beatdown suggests their war path is far from over. For Troy, the attack may be personal. For the rest of NXT, it serves as a warning shot that DarkState is still looking to make an impact — one chair shot at a time.
