Sami Zayn had enough of Cody Rhodes, and Zayn let him know it tonight with a slap.
During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Zayn and Rhodes met in the ring. Zayn tried to level with Cody, asking him to drop the American Nightmare gimmick. Zayn said that there’s been a pattern of misunderstandings over the past few weeks, and recounted the pair’s history.
Sami Zayn says that right now, he’s still on his back while Cody is standing tall, and wonders if this is an accident. After demanding an explanation, Rhodes says this is simply competition. He went back to WrestleMania 40 and talked about their history, and then asked Sami how many of the people he was friends with back then are still his friends. He asked Sami if all of them are the problem, or if it’s Sami.
He said Sami has continued to whine and cry as of late and hasn’t been the same Sami he knows, and that he’s sorry he has the belt, and Sami doesn’t. Sami had heard enough of the disrespect as he slapped Rhodes. As he tried to apologize for it, Rhodes slapped him right back and asked if they’re good. Sami nodded and then left the ring, but snuck back in with a chair, before throwing it away and storming off.
