Josh Hokit Does Hulk Hogan Inspired Entrance At UFC White House Event

Josh Hokit made a Hulk Hogan-inspired entrance for his fight against Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250.

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, UFC hosted the historic UFC Freedom 250 event on the South Lawn of the White House on Sunday night. Undefeated heavyweight prospect Josh Hokit faced veteran Derrick Lewis. He made his way out to the fight to a rendition of late WWE legend Hulk Hogan’s Real American theme, flanked by 9/11 first responder John LaBarbera and Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Paris Davis.

Josh Hokit opened aggressively and dominated the first round with heavy kicks, a clean takedown, and a near-submission before exhausting Derrick Lewis in the second to secure a TKO victory at the 4:09 mark and remain undefeated.

Josh Hokit is under fire for controversial post-fight Michelle Obama remark

Following his victory, Josh Hokit was interviewed by Joe Rogan, during which he made a controversial remark about former First Lady Michelle Obama, calling her a man. “And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?” he asked.

Joe Rogan chose not to acknowledge or engage with Josh Hokit’s comment and ended the interview immediately. It sparked instant outrage across mainstream and social media, with many expressing disappointment at his remark.

UFC President Dana White issued the following statement to TIME. “I understand that the Obamas are public figures, but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech, but I hate that kind of nonsense.”
