Stephanie McMahon was one of WWE’s most hated on-screen villains for many years. Her authority figure character often drew strong reactions from fans, both inside arenas and outside WWE programming.
One fan who strongly disliked McMahon’s character as a child was current WWE star Michin. Recently, she revealed that she once sent a hate letter to Stephanie McMahon.
The story came up during an appearance on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon. During the conversation, Michin reflected on how different fan interactions were before social media became popular.
Michin sent a hate letter to Stephanie McMahon
“Before Twitter was barely popping off, so you had to exchange emails and… Oh, yeah, I first started wrestling, and I met Sarah Del Rey and Daisy Hayes, and I was like, what can I do to train with you guys? Well, email me and we’ll get.”
“I know. Immediately send them an email, just waiting for, like, a notification, right? You know? But it’s like, instead of just tweeting at somebody or sending, we had to… Oh, my God, yeah, send tapes on actual tapes.”
Stephanie McMahon then recalled how wrestlers would mail their tapes in large envelopes. The conversation then turned to WWE’s old fan mail system, leading to a surprising confession from Michin.
“I think, oh gosh, I think I said, like, I think it was either to you. Hope you never find it. I remember back in the day, you guys used to have, like, send your fan mail, too. Yeah. So I sent a hate letter.”
McMahon jokingly replied, “I remember it.”
Michin then admitted that she was actually hoping for a response after sending the letter. “Just learning how to write and everything, and I was, like, honestly waiting for a letter back. She wrote back.” When asked what she had written, Michin admitted she couldn’t remember the exact details.
“I don’t, but it wasn’t nice. But it was probably just, like, I hate Stephanie. She’s a bonehead, da, da, da, da. I hope The Rock chokeslams her to hell,” which got a laugh from McMahon.
