Jim Ross Shares Health Update Amid Extended Hospital Stay

Jim Ross has shared another update from his ongoing hospital stay.

Ross took to X on Monday to reveal that he has now spent 22 days in a hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. The legendary commentator said he was watching the College World Series with his beloved Oklahoma Sooners baseball team and thanked fans for their continued support.

“Day 22 in the hospital in Norman. Watching @CWSOmaha with my @soonerbaseball. Thanks for everyone’s kind thoughts and prayers. Don’t count me out just yet. I’m still fighting!”

Ross did not disclose the reason for his hospitalization in the update. However, the legendary broadcaster has dealt with several health issues in recent years.

Earlier this year, Ross revealed that he had undergone testing related to possible dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. He has also battled skin cancer multiple times and has remained open about various health challenges throughout his career.

In May, Ross suffered a fall that impacted his plans leading into AEW Double or Nothing. Despite the setback, he still traveled to the event and called the Continental Championship match between Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly.

The veteran announcer has continued to receive support from fans and members of the wrestling industry during his hospital stay, with many taking to social media to send well wishes following his latest update.

Jim Ross’ AEW Future Remains Unclear

Ross’ future with AEW is another topic that has generated discussion in recent months.

The longtime commentator’s current contract with AEW is reportedly set to expire in August. Ross previously addressed the situation publicly, stating that any potential renewal would ultimately be up to AEW President Tony Khan.

“I don’t have a lot more time left on my contract. I talked to Barry Bloom, my agent. He was in New York, and we chatted about my status. I’m just going to let it play out,” Jim Ross said. “If Tony Khan wants to keep me, he will. If he doesn’t, then he won’t.” [H/T F4Wonline]
