WWE’s new FIFA World Cup 2026 championship belt is receiving some intense heat from fans.
Following its pattern with many other major sports, WWE is now selling crossover merchandise tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With the tournament taking over North America, the promotion and Fanatics have officially launched the WWE x FIFA World Cup 2026 Legacy Championship Replica Title Belt. The price tag? A casual $549.99.
WWE describes the belt as a “monument to the greatest sporting moment of a generation, forged in the iconography of sports entertainment royalty.”
However, wrestling and soccer fans on social media are roasting it for its design. Many are calling the belt ugly and a cash grab, though some expressed interest in owning it.
“Annnnd WWE does it again with another ugly belt. It’s actually impressive how you keep outdoing yourselves,” a fan commented.
“Delete this rn. This is uglier than the 24/7 belt. You should be ashamed of yourselves,” one fan replied.
“They coming out with anything these days to try and take your money,” another wrote.
“To be honest, I actually like it, the shape and design of the belt matches the exact branding of the tournament and also has multiple colors that symbolises football uniting the world. I recommend this belt actually,” one fan replied positively.
The first stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is in progress, with the final match scheduled for Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
