Sgt. Slaughter has responded after Tiffany Stratton failed to recognize the WWE Hall of Famer.
The reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion recently appeared in a Topps video where she opened wrestling card packs ranging in value from $5 to $800. Along the way, Stratton answered questions about her career while identifying the wrestlers featured in each pack.
The pack from 2016 included cards of Junkyard Dog, Sgt. Slaughter, Viscera, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Asuka. Stratton correctly identified Steamboat and Asuka but did not recognize Junkyard Dog, Viscera, or Sgt. Slaughter. She also pronounced the Hall of Famer’s name by reading the abbreviation, referring to him as “S-G-T Slaughter.”
The clip quickly made the rounds on social media, with many fans criticizing Stratton for not recognizing one of wrestling’s most well-known legends.
Sgt. Slaughter’s Reacts To Tiffany Stratton’s Wrestling Knowledge
Sgt. Slaughter has now weighed in with a playful jab of his own. Responding to a fan who pointed out that Stratton did not recognize the pro wrestling legend, Slaughter wrote: “I Think I Watch Her Wrestle Once, But I Turned It Off After About 30 Seconds Into The Match? What Was Her Name Again?”
Despite the criticism over the viral moment, Stratton had no trouble identifying many of the stars featured in the more expensive packs. She also correctly named The Rock as the owner of the most valuable WWE trading card ever sold, although her estimate of its sale price fell short of the actual figure.
Stratton will have an opportunity to shift the conversation back to the ring this weekend, as she defends the WWE Women’s United States Championship against Jade Cargill at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
