Jey Uso says the criticism surrounding his singles run has changed the way he views the WWE Universe.
As part of WWE’s Countdown to Night of Champions series, Jackie Redmond sat down with the former World Heavyweight Champion to discuss his decision to reunite with Roman Reigns after establishing himself as one of WWE’s top singles stars. During the interview, Jey admitted that fan backlash has made him stop caring about public opinion.
“You want me to be honest? I really don’t care about the fans no more. ‘Cause when I was doing my thing, they saw the hate. I can’t miss it, it’s all in my face. Social media, whatever it is, man. When my name pops up, I see it out there. I’m gonna let y’all know. Most disliked video on social media, on WWE social media platforms. Look it up, uce. Like five, six, 10 videos out there. It’s all good. If anything, Jackie-O, man, that thing lit a fire under me. All the noise, all the opinions. Cool. It is what it is, ’cause that’s part of the job.”
Jey Uso Admits He Still Has Support From Fans
However, Jey later clarified that he still feels supported by many fans, even if the reaction has been divided.
“I do. I do. I take it back. It’s 50-50, man. Like I said, I’m confused. Pulling me left and right. I Yeet, I talk crap. I’m me now. And on some real, my day ones know who they are, Jackie-O. But there was a lot of people who did doubt me. Still doubting me right now.”
Jey’s remarks likely reference the reaction to his WresteMania 41 victory, as the YouTube video of his World Title win became one of WWE’s most-disliked uploads on the platform. Despite the online criticism, he has remained one of the company’s most popular stars with live audiences.
Jey will look to prove his doubters wrong once again this Saturday at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he takes on Oba Femi in the King of the Ring Tournament Final. The winner will earn a world championship match at SummerSlam 2026.
