Mercedes Moné has once again addressed the question many wrestling fans keep asking, but this time she did it with a joke that quickly grabbed attention.
While speculation about a WWE comeback never seems to tap out, Moné made it clear she isn’t entertaining those ideas anytime soon.
The AEW star responded to a fan on Instagram after being asked when she would return to WWE. Rather than leaving the door open, Moné delivered a playful one-liner that instantly got fans talking.
Mercedes Moné jokes about WWE comeback timeline
An eager fan commented, “When will you return to WWE?” Moné’s response was short but memorable: “When they induct me into the HOF.”
The remark suggested that fans shouldn’t expect a return to WWE during her active in-ring career. Instead, Moné humorously implied that her next appearance would only come when she is honored in the Hall of Fame.
The response also lines up with her current position in AEW. Moné has repeatedly reminded fans that they can watch her on AEW Dynamite rather than asking about a WWE return. Her comment reinforces that her focus remains firmly on her current promotion.
Before joining AEW, Moné built one of the most accomplished careers of WWE’s modern era under the name Sasha Banks. During her decade with the company from 2012 to 2022, she became a Grand Slam and Triple Crown Champion while helping shape WWE’s Women’s Evolution alongside Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley.
She also made history by headlining WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair. She also famously captured the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Bayley.
Since leaving WWE in 2022, Moné has continued adding to her résumé across multiple promotions. Most recently, she became the first woman to win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament in back-to-back years after her victory at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026. That landmark victory has earned her an AEW Women’s World Championship opportunity at All In.
For now, Moné’s latest comments suggest that any WWE reunion remains a Hall of Fame conversation rather than an active career plan. Until then, fans hoping for “The Boss” to walk back through the curtain may have to keep waiting.
