Matt Hardy says the stats don’t lie — he’s a top ratings draw for TNA.
During a new episode of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy revealed that The Hardys, Moose and AJ Francis are the top 3 draws on TNA’s weekly television series, Impact. Hardy says that he did his own research and spoke with someone to compile the information.
“I just looked through and I did the research and just had a conversation with someone, they said the top three drawing acts at TNA on TV, in the AMC era, have been The Hardys, Moose and AJ Francis,” Matt said (H/T F4WOnline.com.)
Hardy went into more detail and noted that Nielsen changes went into effect in January, which adjusted the overall estimate of cable-watching households.
“We (Hardys vs The Righteous) had that Wicked Garden [match] and the number shot back up. This is after the Nielsen sh*t had changed… it had changed, so [the number] dropped back down. Then there was a week where we weren’t on…then we were the main event last week and we did 255, almost our highest rating ever, and it had the highest demo. That [highest rated] show was kind of built around us (Matt and Jeff) and Moose.”
Matt and Jeff Hardy defeated The System at TNA Slammiversary to regain the TNA Tag Team Championship, which is their fifth reign overall. Moose won a No Surrender match on the show, while AJ Francis lost a singles match to Elijah. Ahead of the match, Francis shared the original stipulation that was pitched and revealed why it ultimately became a traditional singles bout.
