Mick Foley has confirmed that his WWE Legends merchandising contract has come to an end.
Sharing a video on social media, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he is “no longer under a Legends merchandising contract” and described the post as “a message for WWE at the end of our thirty year relationship.”
Despite the contract’s expiration, Foley used the opportunity to thank WWE for the success he enjoyed through the company’s merchandise program while expressing excitement for the next chapter of his career with AEW.
“Hey everyone, this is Mick Foley and I do have a message for WWE along with all my fans and fans of wrestling in general. The message for WWE, and specifically for their merchandise and marketing people, the message is: thank you. And I mean that sincerely,” he said.
Foley revealed that he recently received his largest quarterly royalty payment in approximately 10 years, prompting him to publicly thank WWE’s merchandise and marketing teams for continuing to produce merchandise based on him over the years.
“When I got to WWE in 1996, I’d been in the business for 11 years and I finally got an action figure. And I figured that was my one and only action figure. And here it is 2026, and honestly, a couple days ago, I just received my largest quarterly royalty statement in probably 10 years. So, I want to thank everyone in WWE who had a hand in making the decision that I was someone worth making action figures for and different types of merchandise.”
Mick Foley Is Proud Of His WWE Legacy
He also reassured fans that he remains proud of his WWE legacy and has no issue signing WWE memorabilia. However, Foley said he is excited to move forward with AEW, where new merchandise is already in the works, while teasing additional projects with other companies.
“So, thank you very much for that. For fans, I want you to know that I have no problem signing WWE memorabilia. I look forward to it, I’m proud of everything I did there, but it’s time for a new chapter in my career and in my life, and I’m really looking forward to this adventure with AEW. And I’m really looking forward to doing everything I can possibly do to make AEW as great as it can possibly be. And I’m looking forward to having some merchandise coming out with AEW, in addition to a couple of other companies that I just talked to today that have a couple of exciting ideas, and I will be rolling out those ideas sometime soon.
“Thanks so much, not only to WWE, but for all of you out there who have supported me over the years, bought my merchandise, attended my shows, have cared about me enough to comment, like, and support me. Wishing you all the best. Have a nice day.”
The development comes months after Mick Foley confirmed he was parting ways with WWE over the company’s ties to the White House. Foley made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026. During the pre-show, he was attacked by MJF in a segment that also involved Darby Allin.
