RFK Jr. Appears to Treat WWE as Real While Appearing Alongside Triple H

A recent television appearance featuring WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H took an unexpected turn when U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. used WWE to make a point about overcoming failure.

However, his comments quickly caught attention because they appeared to treat WWE competition as if it were entirely real.

The discussion took place during a NewsNation interview about the return of the Presidential Fitness Test, with Triple H joining Kennedy to talk about sports, fitness, and perseverance.

During the interview, anchor Anna Kooiman noted that critics of the Presidential Fitness Test believed it could damage the confidence of less athletic children. Responding to that concern, Kennedy pointed to WWE as an example of resilience.

“Failure is a part of life,” Kennedy said. “The great thing about WWE that’s so inspiring is all of these guys have failed. Every one of them has lost fights.”

He continued by explaining why he believes setbacks are valuable, adding, “The trick is how do you persuade yourself to stand back up and fight again? That’s the beauty of WWE. You lose sometimes, but you win sometimes. If you keep sticking at it, you’re ultimately going to come out on top.”

The remarks stood out because WWE match outcomes are predetermined, despite the athleticism and physical demands on its performers being very real. Triple H, whose role as WWE’s Chief Content Officer includes overseeing the company’s creative direction, did not respond to Kennedy’s characterization during the interview.

Instead, Triple H focused on the purpose of the fitness initiative, saying, “We’re rewarding effort, not just the upper end of success.” He added, “It’s incredibly important for us to teach kids to support the kid that can’t do it… you don’t bully them, you don’t make fun of them.”

The appearance comes after Triple H was named vice chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition in 2026.

While the interview centered on youth fitness, Kennedy’s comments about WWE quickly became the talking point for many wrestling fans. It was a rare moment where reality and kayfabe seemed to blur — though not necessarily by design.
