WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page says he wants to be more involved with the promotion under Triple H.
During an exclusive interview with Tom Campbell of Cultaholic, Diamond Dallas Page revealed that he recently met Triple H in Stamford, Connecticut, when he was there to appear on Cody Rhodes’ podcast.
“I’m really good friends with Triple H, but he’s so busy that it’s not like I can call him anytime I want. I only call him or check in with him when I have something important to talk about or whatever. I stopped up there to do Cody’s show. You’ve got to remember, I was mentoring Cody when he was 12 years old, more of an adviser. Kind of like Dusty was to Eric Bischoff,” Page stated
DDP told Triple H he wants to be more involved with WWE
Speaking further, DDP noted that he told Triple H he didn’t want a full-time job since he is financially stable. However, he told him he wanted to be part of the company’s programming occasionally, offering to be a storyteller and historian for projects like WWE Rivals on A&E.
“When I came up there, I let Paul know, Triple H know, that I would love to stop in and say hello. He’s like, ‘Absolutely,’ and he took the time for me. I told him, I said, ‘Just so you know, I’m up here doing this, and I did some interviews and stuff. I don’t want a job, I do very well. I don’t need anything, and I don’t want to take anything away from anybody, but I do want to be a part occasionally of the show.’
“Whether it’s [WWE] Rivals, like let’s see, me and Randy Savage – well, we were the feud of the year in ’97. Something’s a no-brainer. Me and Goldberg, that match, it could have gone either way. You didn’t know. Then there’s behind the scenes stories that I could talk about that I haven’t talked about… For me personally, yeah, I’d like to be involved a little bit more than just occasionally coming to the show,” he said about his meeting with Triple H.
He also addressed the recent reports about a future one-off appearance in WWE. While he’s open to being more involved with the promotion, DDP hopes it doesn’t happen this summer, saying he’s “completely booked” with his other commitments.
