Jey Uso has publicly addressed fans after reports confirmed that his wife, Takecia Fatu, filed for divorce, bringing their 12-year marriage to an end.
The WWE star shared a brief but pointed message on social media, offering his first public response while continuing to feature prominently on WWE programming.
The post came just days after Uso fell to Cody Rhodes in a No. 1 Contender’s Match on the July 3 episode of SmackDown, making for a challenging stretch both inside and outside the ring.
Jey Uso responds after divorce filing becomes public
According to court documents filed in Fayette County, Georgia, Takecia Fatu filed for divorce on June 24, stating that the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and that there were “no prospects for a reconciliation.” The couple married on Feb. 13, 2014.
The filing states that they share one minor son, Jeyce, born in 2012, along with another son who is over 18. Takecia is seeking primary physical custody of Jeyce while remaining open to joint legal custody. She also requested exclusive use of the family’s Georgia home, child support, spousal support, and attorney fees.
After the news became public, Uso addressed fans through his Instagram Story, urging them to stop involving his family in online discussions.
“IM A GROWN A** MAN and leave her TF out of it too LAMFS,” he wrote.
Uso’s message did not address the divorce proceedings directly, but it made clear that he wanted his wife kept out of the public conversation. Sometimes, even the “Yeet Master” has to draw a line outside the squared circle.
The personal update arrives during a busy period in Uso’s WWE career. On SmackDown, he came up short against Cody Rhodes in a No. 1 Contender’s Match, with Rhodes earning an Undisputed WWE Championship opportunity against Sami Zayn on the July 6 edition of RAW.
For now, neither Uso nor WWE has issued any additional public statement regarding the divorce proceedings, and the focus on television remains firmly on his ongoing role within The Bloodline storyline.
