TNA iMPACT starts now!

The Hardys (c) vs. The Great Hands – TNA World Tag Team Championship

  • Matt Hardy hits a Twist of Fate and tags in Jeff Hardy, who performs a Swanton Bomb to pick up the win.

Winners and still TNA Tag Team Champions: The Hardys

Tasha Steelz is at ringside with The Great Hands after the loss. Mustafa Ali arrives alongside Special Agent 0. Ali stares a hole through the trio before pulling out his phone, prompting Matthew Rehwoldt to wonder who Ali is reaching out to.

Grade: B-

TNA advertising Nic Nemeth vs. Jeff Hardy for the World Championship had me thinking we were getting a title change tonight. But no, The Hardys walked out still the TNA World Tag Team Champions. The post-match angle involving Mustafa Ali seems to suggest that Hotch, Skyler, and Tasha Steelz’s days in Order 4 are numbered.

We Hear From Lei Ying Lee

Lei Ying Lee joins Gia Miller backstage ahead of tonight’s main event. Miller brings up Lee’s loss to Xia Brookside at Slammiversary, where Brookside defeated her former Angel Warriors partner to capture the TNA Knockouts World Championship. With Lee set to receive her contractually obligated rematch in a No Disqualifications Match tonight, Miller asks what’s going through her mind.

Lee admits that Slammiversary was painful, saying she lost both her championship and someone she once considered a friend. She says Brookside chose the title over their friendship and that she now understands where her former partner stands. Lee vows that there will be no excuses and no looking back tonight, promising to fight with all her heart, honor, and spirit because the Knockouts World Championship belongs to a true warrior. She ends by declaring that she will reclaim the title in tonight’s main event.

The King’s Speech ft. Frankie Kazarian & Moose

Frankie Kazarian welcomes Moose to The King’s Speech and congratulates him on defeating Eddie Edwards in a brutal No Surrender Match at Slammiversary, noting that Moose has now beaten every member of The System. Kazarian then asks Moose how he’s feeling after the victory.

Moose says Slammiversary was the most emotional night of his career, adding that Kazarian knows better than anyone how Eddie Edwards likes to involve people’s families. Reflecting on his decade-long run in TNA, Moose says he’s defeated legends, won championships, and headlined pay-per-views, but none of those accomplishments compare to what happened at Slammiversary. He says that, for the first time in his career, he was able to share an in-ring moment with his wife and son, calling it a memory he will cherish for the rest of his life.

‘You Want Some, Come Get Some’

Kazarian tries to get under Moose’s skin, joking that Moose’s family will probably need therapy after everything he put them through at Slammiversary. Moose says he knows exactly what Kazarian is trying to do before borrowing John Cena’s famous catchphrase, inviting anyone in the locker room to step up if they want a fight.

Kazarian fires back, asking Moose if he’s stupid for calling himself the “face of the franchise” while standing in the ring with the “King of TNA.” Moose questions who crowned Kazarian king, prompting Kazarian to respond that it was the people.

Moose says he has every right to call himself the face of the franchise because he’s spent the last 10 years in TNA. He points out that he’s watched countless wrestlers come to the company, build their names, and then leave in pursuit of bigger paydays or greater fame. Moose declares that, unlike them, he’s not going anywhere because TNA is his home. He says he’s made TNA his own personal playground, which is why he proudly calls himself the face of the place.

Moose vs. Frankie Kazarian on TNA iMPACT?

Kazarian says he appreciates Moose’s passion before sarcastically thanking him for reciting his résumé. He then runs through his own credentials, calling himself a TNA original, the last remaining TNA OG, a pioneer of the X Division, and a Grand Slam Champion, pointing out that Moose has yet to accomplish that feat. Kazarian adds that he helped build TNA from the ground up, giving wrestlers like Moose a place to build their careers, before reminding everyone that he’s also the “King of TNA.”

Moose admits that while Kazarian may be the most annoying person in the locker room, he still respects him and considers him one of TNA’s pillars. Moose says he believes Kazarian knows that he belongs in that same conversation. He then points out that despite both spending years in TNA, they’ve never faced each other in a singles match. Moose proposes giving the fans in Albany a dream match by finally squaring off for the first time ever: Moose vs. Frankie Kazarian.

AJ Francis Namedrops Tom Brady On TNA iMPACT

AJ Francis and Expressions interrupt the confrontation. Francis introduces himself and claims that he once played alongside Tom Brady, just like Moose. He then claims that Brady told him Moose left the NFL the year before Francis arrived because he was scared of him.

Moose says he’s done talking and just wants to fight someone. Taking a shot at Kazarian, Moose calls him “a little bitch” before challenging the much larger AJ Francis to a one-on-one match.

Expressions quickly cuts Moose off, saying AJ Francis doesn’t operate on Moose’s schedule because he’s a prize fighter and the best big man in the business. He accepts the challenge on Francis’ behalf, but announces that the match will happen next week instead of tonight.

Kazarian wraps up the segment by hyping next week’s TNA iMPACT, calling it “the irresistible idiot against the immovable mark,” before cueing his entrance music to end the interview.

We Hear From Elijah

A video package airs featuring Elijah reflecting on his journey in TNA and his ultimate goal of becoming TNA World Champion.

Elijah says that while he’s enjoyed entertaining the fans, having great matches, and connecting with the audience since arriving in TNA, his focus has always been on winning the TNA World Championship. He says everyone knows “we walk this way” in TNA, and he wants everyone who has walked alongside him to feel like they’re headed somewhere meaningful. Elijah promises to lead his supporters to the mountaintop, the promised land, and ultimately to the TNA World Championship.

He adds that he’s carried the burdens of everyone who has walked with him for years and believes their time in the desert is nearly over. Elijah closes by declaring that he’s no longer a boy but a man, and that he believes the promised land is within reach.

Indi Hartwell vs. Vicious Vicki – Knockouts TV Title Tournament

  • Indi Hartwell advances to the quarterfinals after pinning Vicious Vicki with the Hurts Donut.

Winner: Indi Hartwell

Grade: C+

Indi finds herself in the midcard division, fighting to become the inaugural TNA Knockouts Television Champion. If I’m being honest, I believe she peaked during her storyline with Dexter Lumis in WWE NXT. I’ll stick with that opinion unless she wins the big one in TNA, and I’m not talking about the Knockouts Television Championship. I believe that title would be a better fit for Mara Sade.

Injury Update On TNA Champion

Tom Hannifan delivers the latest TNA Injury Report presented by AMC. He reveals that The Personal Concierge’s ocular condition continues to persist, though he remains on active medication as the world awaits further updates.

Hannifan adds that Lei Ying Lee is still dealing with a leg injury suffered during her TNA Knockouts World Championship match against Xia Brookside at Slammiversary. Heading into tonight’s No Disqualifications rematch, Lee is not at 100%.

He also reports that one-half of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, Allie, suffered a neck injury during her first-round match in the Knockouts Television Championship Tournament against Heather by Elegance. Allie is being kept out of action as a precautionary measure.

Matthew Rehwoldt then delivers “breaking news” from TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, claiming that “The Wanted Man” remains in the best shape of his “hot, young life.” Rehwoldt jokes that Nemeth’s “pelvic floor is limber, stretched, and ready to send the ladies in Albany into a frenzy.”

Fabian Aichner Watched Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Commando At 5

A video package featuring Fabian Aichner airs on TNA iMPACT, highlighting his journey, ambitions, and pursuit of the X-Division Championship.

Aichner says he is determined to prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is the number one professional wrestler in TNA, and he plans to do so every time he steps inside the ring.

Reflecting on his childhood, Aichner says he was inspired to pursue something special after watching Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando when he was five years old. He talks about his love for Italy, describing it as a beautiful country filled with happy, laid-back people. He mentions the Italian saying, “You only make the stress for yourself,” and says Italy will always be home.

Aichner reveals that he became a professional skier at the age of 10 before discovering wrestling. He recalls flipping through television channels one night after ski practice and immediately realizing that wrestling was what he wanted to pursue. He says his life has been filled with moments that happened at the right time, and his arrival in TNA was another example of that.

X-Division Title Pursuit

Aichner says he is someone who refuses to stay down because of what others say. Once he sets a goal, he does everything possible to achieve it. His next objective is winning the X-Division Championship, which he believes would prove to everyone what he already knows: that he is the number one professional wrestler in TNA.

Aichner says being mentioned alongside names such as Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Leon Slater shows that he belongs among the elite. He then discusses Cedric Alexander, calling him a threat because of his opportunistic nature and intelligence inside the ring, as shown at Slammiversary. However, Aichner insists he is not intimidated and wants to prove who the better man is when they meet one-on-one.

Aichner says what makes him dangerous is his mindset. He doesn’t enter the ring simply looking to win a match; he enters with the mentality of a gladiator. With that approach, he promises to earn respect, redemption, and recognition while proving that “Fabian Aichner is numero uno.”

The Righteous vs. The System vs. Ricky Sosa & Leon Slater

  • Slater takes out Bronson and Dutch with a dive to the outside. He then sends Bronson back into the ring, allowing Sosa to connect with a running uppercut to pick up the win.

Winners: Ricky Sosa & Leon Slater

Grade: B+

Really good tag team action. The Righteous brought their unorthodox psychology, while Bronson and Myers relied on their opportunistic style. Slater and Sosa maintained momentum throughout the match with their combination of agility and power. I have a feeling Slater and Sosa will soon challenge The Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.

Backstage Segment ft. Santino Marella, Daria Rae & Ryan Nemeth

Santino Marella is shown backstage watching Leon Slater and Ricky Sosa celebrate their victory.

Daria Rae walks in and questions what he’s doing. Santino reveals that he’s making a firecracker, prompting Rae to joke that she’s not surprised he’s making them again.

Ryan Nemeth interrupts and explains that KC Navarro is scheduled to come to the ring later and he expects Navarro to say disrespectful things about his brother, Nic Nemeth.

Ryan says he can’t just sit back and listen to people attack his family, but Santino advises him to relax and let Navarro vent after the rough week he’s had.

Rae tells Ryan that if he feels he needs to say something to Navarro, he should do what he has to do. She clarifies that she isn’t telling him to start a fight, but if someone is publicly attacking his family, he has the right to defend himself.

Rae then takes a shot at Santino’s estranged relationship with Arianna Grace, saying that unlike him, some people prefer to defend their families rather than have matches with them.

Jody Threat vs. Gabby Forza – Knockouts TV Title Tournament

  • Jody Threat connects with the Pope Shove It on Gabby Forza to secure the victory.

Winner: Jody Threat

Grade: B+

I liked how the commentary team explained Forza’s journey into professional wrestling while putting her over for her strength. Those kinds of articulate insights are great for fans who aren’t familiar with a talent. The System’s Bear Bronson also opened up about his partner, Forza, during a recent interview with WrestleZone, which fans can read here. As for the match itself, it was hard-hitting, and hopefully, we get another encounter between Forza and Threat somewhere down the line.

Who Is Mustafa Ali Talking To?

Mustafa Ali is shown fixing his tie in front of a mirror while speaking to someone off-camera. Ali tells the person they were right and that change is needed, instructing them to set up a State of the Order Address for next week, where attendance will be mandatory.

KC Navarro Calls Out Nic Nemeth

KC Navarro comes to the ring and reflects on last week’s events involving Nic Nemeth. Navarro says he learned a valuable and painful lesson after spending time with someone he respected, looked up to, and considered a hero.

Navarro says that person turned on him, not with words, but by hitting him with the Danger Zone. He questions what he did to deserve it, wondering if he let Nemeth down, disappointed him, or hurt him in some way.

Navarro says Nemeth calls himself a man, but instead of explaining his actions, he hugged him and then attacked him. Navarro demands that if Nemeth is truly the man he thought he was and the hero he respected, he should come out to the ring and explain himself face-to-face.

The TNA World Champion Responds

Nic Nemeth makes his way to the ring to confront KC Navarro. Nemeth refers to Navarro as “kid” and says he, along with everyone else, believed in him until he realized Navarro was simply wasting his time.

Nemeth tells Navarro that he could have been the next big thing, but he doesn’t have “it.” He says Navarro doesn’t deserve to be standing anywhere near him.

Navarro fires back by reminding Nemeth that he just defeated his brother, Ryan Nemeth, saying that clearly means Ryan doesn’t have “it” either.

The distraction allows Ryan Nemeth to attack Navarro from behind. Nic then enters the ring and stands over a fallen Navarro.

Nemeth says it’s easy to say “blood is thicker than water” because it is true, but Navarro never deserved to even stand in his shadow, much less anyone else on the roster. Nemeth tells Navarro to never come near him or his family again, adding that he should drop it, lose his number, and leave him alone.

Xia Brookside (c) vs. Lei Ying Lee – No DQ Match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship

  • Lee attempts a punch, but Brookside blocks it with the chair. She then connects with the Dark Side DDT onto the chair to retain her Knockouts World Championship.

Winner and still TNA Knockouts World Champion: Xia Brookside

Grade: B-

This match didn’t deliver for me. I wanted to see some color given the extremely personal nature of this feud. The Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell match from earlier this year was much better. With Lei Ying Lee no longer being a threat to Xia Brookside, it remains to be seen who will step up and challenge the TNA Knockouts World Champion.

Overall Grade: B-

The Hardys vs. The Great Hands ended just as the action was beginning to heat up. I’m fine with Hotch and Skyler taking the loss as long as TNA’s creative team has plans to make them Tag Team Champions later this year. These two have been overlooked for far too long.

Indi Hartwell vs. Vicious Vicki was the weakest match of the night. That being said, TNA fans are firmly behind Indi, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up winning the TNA Knockouts Television Championship, although I would personally like to see Mara Sade get that opportunity.

Tom Hannifan noted that Allie suffered a neck injury last week on TNA iMPACT. Hopefully, that is just part of the storyline because she recently signed with the company and captured the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship alongside Rosemary at Slammiversary.

The three-way tag team match, along with the Knockouts Television Championship Tournament match between Jody Threat and Gabby Forza, were both solid. I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s next for Leon Slater and Ricky Sosa.

As for the TNA World Championship picture, I enjoyed the segment involving KC Navarro and The Nemeths. Navarro is solid on the mic and in the ring, and Nic Nemeth is the perfect veteran to help build him into the next rising star.

Finally, the No Disqualification main event was underwhelming for a blood feud. Xia Brookside walked out still the TNA Knockouts World Champion, and as for what’s next for Lei Ying Lee, it remains to be seen.

That’s it for tonight. Thank you for reading, and I’ll be back with TNA iMPACT coverage next week.
