Maxxine Dupri has broken her silence after one of the most talked-about moments from the July 6 edition of WWE RAW.
Following her shocking betrayal, alliance with The Vision, and kiss with Austin Theory, Dupri has now explained why she believes the move was the right one.
The former Alpha Academy member insists her decision wasn’t about revenge — it was about finally putting herself first after months of frustration.

Speaking on Complex Graps, Dupri reflected on the events that led to her heel turn. During RAW, she helped Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defeat The Street Profits for the WWE World Tag Team Championship by delivering a low blow to Angelo Dawkins before celebrating with Theory in a moment that quickly went viral.
According to Dupri, the past year convinced her that staying loyal wasn’t paying off.
“So much has changed… I won my first title. I lost my first title, I lost a lot of opportunities. I wasn’t being given opportunities; I was continuing to be overlooked, but not by Austin, of course.”
She added, “I just came to a point where… you have to choose yourself, and I chose me.”
Dupri also made it clear why she aligned herself with Theory and The Vision.
“I wanna be with the best of the best,” she said before adding, “You are the average of the five people you surround yourself with, and so I’m gonna surround myself with the best.”
Addressing her departure from Alpha Academy, Dupri questioned why the group wasn’t there during her battles with Becky Lynch.
“I’ve been choosing them for years, and that hasn’t gotten me anywhere,” she said. “Where were they? Were they ever ringside for me?”
Dupri also defended the backlash surrounding her actions, saying, “Gloves are off, baby. They asked for this.”
For now, Maxxine is embracing a new chapter alongside The Vision. Whether fans cheer or boo, she has made one thing crystal clear — she’s no longer waiting on the sidelines, and she’s tagging herself into the spotlight.
