Former WWE Star Says AEW Roster Is Too Bloated For Sheamus

Former WWE Superstar Matt Hardy says that AEW might not be the right place for Sheamus.

Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champion addressed what could be next for Sheamus following his WWE exit. He believes AEW has a bloated roster filled with unused talent and suggested that the promotion might not be a suitable fit for the Celtic Warrior.

“I think it all depends on timing and place. So, for instance, at AEW, could they use them? I don’t know. AEW has a ton of former WWE talent. I mean, it has a ton of wrestlers, but on top of that, a ton of former WWE talent. It’s got a huge, bloated roster that doesn’t use everybody,” Hardy said about Sheamus’ future.

“Could he add beneficial equity to AEW? He probably could. It depends on how they’re going to feature him. I don’t know how he would feel about his featuring. Maybe it’s real good, maybe it’s not something he’s happy with. Who knows? AEW is kind of a roll of the dice. You never know,” he said about Sheamus.

Matt Hardy believes TNA would be the best fit for Sheamus

Speaking further, Matt Hardy said TNA, despite its tight budget, can be the best option for Sheamus.

“With TNA, I mean, it is a place where he could work, but obviously, it’s still budgeted. They have a budget that they have to stick very strictly to, and I think if you’re willing to come to TNA, you could still be in a great spot, and you could be highlighted on the show, and you could help give other talents a rub,” he said about Sheamus.
