Rhea Ripley Provides Major Update on Her WWE Injury

WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has shared a new injury update.

Ripley has not wrestled since WWE’s live event in Portugal, where she competed in a tag team match. Days earlier, she suffered a knee injury at WWE Clash in Paris, where she defended her Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill.

Reports suggest WWE has adjusted several creative plans and has charted a new course. The company reportedly made significant backstage shuffling. Moreover, several WWE SmackDown women’s storylines were adjusted as well, as the company is planning ahead in case Ripley misses more time.

WWE star Rhea Ripley reveals the latest on her knee injury

Rhea Ripley recently appeared at the Power Slap event where she spoke with Nina Drama about her recovery. The Women’s Champion confirmed she suffered a meniscus tear. “I hurt my knee. I got a slight tear in my mensiscus, so it’s healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. I just can’t bend it very well. Kind of need to bend, guys.”

She also said she doesn’t know when she’ll return. “I don’t know. I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of a little bit up in the air with just how fast my body recovers. But I’ve been out for probably about a month now. I think it’s been a month and one week. It feels better.”

However, she admitted the knee still gives her problems. “It still starts to hurt and throb; it gets tired. I can’t get up or bend down really, or kind of move side to side while crouching.” [H/T: FW4Online]

More details are unavailable at this time. WWE has not officially announced a return timeline or provided an update. Nevertheless, with SummerSlam now only weeks away, Ripley’s injury has cast an air of uncertainty around the women’s title picture.
