AEW President Tony Khan has shared fresh updates on the status of Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page after both stars were noticeably absent from recent television and pay-per-view lineups.
While neither appeared at AEW Redemption, Khan indicated fans may not have to wait much longer to see them again.
The updates came during the AEW Redemption media call, where Khan addressed questions surrounding both former world title contenders.
Tony Khan expects Swerve Strickland and Adam Page back soon
Khan first discussed Strickland, who has not wrestled since losing to Will Ospreay in the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final at Forbidden Door. He confirmed Strickland has been working on projects outside of wrestling but remains an important part of AEW’s plans.
“I’m going to be with Swerve at the Comic-Con this weekend. Swerve has been out of action since his last match and has been working on some things outside of wrestling.”
Khan also reassured fans that there are no issues between the former AEW World Champion and the company.
“He’s in very good standing with AEW… As far as when you’ll see Swerve next on AEW TV, stay tuned.”
Khan then turned his attention to Adam Page, whose television appearances have also been limited. After losing to MJF at Revolution, Page vowed he would never challenge for the AEW World Championship again. He returned on the July 11 edition of Collision to announce he would instead pursue AEW’s other titles.
According to Khan, that direction remains unchanged.
“I think we’ll see Hangman again very soon… He’s going to be chasing championships.”
Khan added that Page intends to honor his promise regarding the world title.
“He’s going to be a man of his word… Hangman is absolutely going to live up to his word.”
While Khan did not reveal exact return dates for either wrestler, his comments suggest both remain active members of the roster rather than sidelined by injury. With several championship pictures still taking shape, it may only be a matter of time before both men ride back into the spotlight.
