UFC president Dana White recently announced during a sit-down interview with respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani that the company has officially purchased rival MMA promotion Strikeforce.
The promotion, which is widely considered by fans to be the second largest MMA league in the world, is now owned by UFC, but will be run by the same people (Scott Coker, etc.) and air on the same network (Showtime) as before.
White mentioned several times during the interview that “business will run as usual,” referring to fighter swapping, etc.
