TNA Impact Results (7/22) – Joe/Hardy, Dixie’s Announcement

Dixie Carter comes out to make her announcement and she says TNA is about the fans, and she gets to talk to alot of them, and one constant theme is extreme hardcore wrestling. She introduces the ECW group and Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Mick Foley, Stevie Richards and Raven make their way out. Dixie says she wants to let the guys explain what the fans mean to them. Mick Foley says this is the first time she is out here like this, but she says it is her being real, and that they were to ECW in the 90’s what Hogan was to wrestling in the 80’s. She puts them over and says they did it for love and respect, not for paychecks, and they would always try to give more than they could.

Foley thanks her for letting him get one more chance to have the spotlight, and he gives the mic to Tommy Dreamer. He says he watched TNA since they were in Nashville, and his friends told him to come over, but he was scared because he had a young family and needed financial security. He says he saw alot of similarities in ECW and TNA, in that it was growing, and that it was a place legends could go to reinvent themselves. He says long before Samoa Joe was dumping people on their heads, Taz was the Human Suplex Machine and says what Flair did for Lethal is what Terry Funk did for him and Foley. Dreamer says before The Beautiful People, they had Francine and Beulah and when he was invited to Slammiversary, he saw what the wrestlers do for the passion and for all of the fans.

Dreamer thanks Dixie for bringing back the passion, because at One Night Stand 2005, he had his closure, but then they (WWE) brought the brand back. He talks about watching his friends getting fired for nothing and getting destroyed, and he had to finally quit because it made him sick. He says they put together a plan and Dixie can make it happen, but it’s not about a takeover, it’s about people losing their jobs and for the fans that chant it. Dreamer asks for one night to show the world what they have, and he says their legacy can live forever. He asks the fans if they want it and they get excited, and Dixie says if they are doing this then she has one stipulation. She says Dreamer and the rest of the guys must plan everything, and it will have nothing to do with TNA. The fans start chanting "ECW" and "Sabu" as everyone smiles and Dreamer tells the crowd that the Impact Zone is going extreme.
