Piper Comments On Missing ‘Mania/Flair HOF, Test Update



The Poughkeepsie Journal has an article on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and he offers his comments on missing Ric Flair’s retirement weekend. “That was the saddest time in my career,” Piper told the newspaper. “The greatest wrestler in the world and I wasn’t there for him. You’ve got to give me more than two days notice. You can’t call me every fourth month and expect me to be there.” WWE invited him, but it was on two days notice when he was busy filming Clear Lake in Winn*peg and was unable to accept the company’s invitation.

In his first match since his DUI arrest, Andrew “Test” Martin will be headlining a Planet Championship Wrestling card at the The Hall in Palmetto Florida on May 4. Test will be wrestling “The Original” Brent Dail for the vacant PCW heavyweight title. In a battle of former Dungeon of Doom members, Haku will be wrestling Kevin Sullivan. The USA Network was once again the top rated network in the basic cable prime time ratings battle last week, according to data compiled by Neilson Media Research. USA averaged 2.56 million viewers and won the adults 25 to 54 demographic. Among the other notable demographics, they finished second (behind Spike) among adults 18 to 49 and third (behind TBS and Spike) for adults 18 to 34.
