WWE released the RAW Greatest Hits CD today.
Today’s wrestling birthdays include Steve Austin, Rob Van Dam and Trish Stratus. Austin turns 43, RVD turns 37, and Trish turns 32.
Advertising has already started for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out on February 17 in Las Vegas. They are pushing the Elimination Chamber match, with the winner getting a title shot at WrestleMania. The deal is that the Royal Rumble winner chooses the champion he wants to face at Mania. The top wrestlers, likely for the other brand, will battle for the other shot in the Elimination Chamber. It looks like this will be a Raw brand match. The names listed in the advertising include Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga and Bobby Lashley. Noticeably absent are Triple H and Chris Jericho.
Mick Foley stated on the 12/9 Wrestling Observer Live show that he has an idea to pitch to do something in WWE for 2008, but doesn’t know if it’ll be approved. Also, he said he wasn’t too happy that his last career match may have been against Jonathan Coachman, but that it’s also okay because his two youngest children never got to see him live until that show. He told WWE he was coming to visit WWE with his kids at a SmackDown taping at the Nassau Coliseum, but when they found he was coming, they worked him into an angle with Jonathan Coachman & Hornswoggle on the show.
Trish Stratus is scheduled to appear as a guest on “MTV Live” on MTV Canada on Wednesday. The show airs at 6:00 pm Eastern. In addition to that, she will be appearing on a new episode of “Cribs” later that night.
