Orton’s WWE Title Run, RAW, WWE PPV Buyrates, Austin

WWEShop.com has a brand new Chris Jericho t-shirt.

The Raw 15th Anniversary DVD features a trailer for the Stone Cold Steve Austin 3 disc DVD. It states that the DVD will be released in 2008.

In the new issue of WWE Magazine Batista was named Superstar of the Year.

Select K-Mart stores are now selling two exclusive “Tagged Classics” DVD double packs. The first pack features Unforgiven 2002 and 2003 and the second pack features No Mercy 2002 and 2003. They retail for $14.99 each.

Here are some new WWE Pay Per View buyrate information from the last few months:

  • WWE’s Unforgiven PPV on September 16 (Cena vs. Orton & Undertaker vs. Henry) drew around 215,000 buys, which was down from what the PPV drew the last two years.
  • WWE’s No Mercy PPV on October 7 (the night Randy Orton become WWE Champion twice in one night & Triple H captured it once along with Batista vs. Khali) drew around 270,000 buys, which was up from what the PPV drew in the last two years.
  • WWE’s Cyber Sunday PPV on October 28 (Orton vs. HBK, Triple H vs. Umaga, Batista vs. Undertaker) drew around 195,000 buys, which was much lower than what the show had been doing for the last two years.

According to strong sources that we have spoken with, don’t expect to see Randy Orton lose the WWE Championship anytime soon as they have plans to keep the title around his waist for the time being. Of course, plans can always change, but as of now, the goal by the end of this year was to put the title on Orton and help him carry it successfully – and the WWE seems to be sticking to their guns.
