It appears ION will be canceling the Bodog TV show in February, when the current contract runs out. Brandon Burgess, the President and CEO of the network, told Media Life that the program would probably go off when the contract expires. When contacted for comment, Trevor Miller, Media Relations for Bodog Fight told us, “Our current deal with ION Television expires in February of 2008. We plan to re-evaluate this relationship at this time.”
MMA on Tap has confirmed that Icon Sport middleweight champion âRuthlessâ Robbie Lawler has signed a four-fight contract with EliteXC. Lawlerâs first bout under the new deal will come September 15, 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii when he battles Murilo âNinjaâ Rua in a Icon Sport/EliteXC middleweight unification bout at EliteXC: Uprising.
Nick Diaz was barred from competing in a submission grappling match against Shinji Sasaki by the California State Athletic Commission. The match was going to happen on the Shooto card on 8/18 but the CSAC would not allow Diaz to competedue to Diaz’ suspension in Nevada. Nick Diaz was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for testing positive for marijuana following his submission victory over Pride Lightweight champion Takanori Gomi at Pride 33 on 2/24/07. The NSAC suspended Diaz for 6 months and changed the result of the fight to a no contest.

UFC and Pride FC veteran Kevin Randleman was arrested on DUI and other charges today in Goodsprings, Nevada, which is a former mining town just south of Las Vegas. According to county records, Randleman was being held in the Clark County Detention Center with a hearing scheduled for Friday morning. The records also indicate that he was arrested on several charges including DUI, Speeding, Driving Without a Valid License, Intimidating a Public Officer, Malicious Destruction of Public Property, and others.
