This year’s SummerSlam has recorded 528,000 buys thus far. The prior year at the same point had done 534,000 buys. However, there were so many late recorded buys for last year that it ended up doing 636,000 buys. This year, the total expection is about 570,000. Regarding Unforgiven, that show is listed at 290,000 buys. The show is projected to do a final number of 310,000 to 315,000 buys. Even with the loaded line-up, the show noly beat out this year’s ECW One Night Stand, which did about 280,000 buys.
Canada’s The Score has changed its RAW schedule for the next few weeks. The 12/18 three-hour special will actually be airing from 9 p.m. to midnight instead of 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Christmas in Iraq will also start at 9 p.m. instead at 10 p.m. The 1/1 Raw will air live instead of the one hour tape delay, also starting at 9 p.m. On 1/8, Raw returns to its 10 p.m. time slot.

WWE personnel were setting up a makeshift arena in a parking lot at Camp Victory, Baghdad, when three mortars were fired into a crowded street less than a block away. A number of people were injured in the attack; luckily none were members of WWE. Later in the day the 13 members of the WWE crew involved in the incident were presented medals from the Lieutenant Colonel in charge of the area where the attack occurred. The awards honor entertainers or those working in entertainment organizations who are involved in action while visiting troops during a war.
