Impact Wrestling Results (5/24) – Open Fight Night Returns, Who Does Hulk Pick As Roode’s Opponent?

AJ picks him up for another Styles Clash but Roode backdrops him, then he hits a spinebuster and a fisherman's suplex but AJ kicks out. Roode goes for another fisherman's suplex but AJ floats over, then Roode tries to clothesline him but AJ connects with a Pele kick. AJ goes outside and looks back at the entrance ramp, then goes for a springboard 450 splash but Roode gets his knees up and blocks it. Roode gets up and hits another fisherman's suplex for the win, then he takes his championship from the ref as we see Kazarian and Daniels walk to the ramp saying how AJ was close.

Winner – Bobby Roode

Roode takes a mic and says he is finally there and he did it, and he is the longest reigning champion so he wants his champagne. So Cal Val hands him the bottle, but Roode says he wants two glasses because Hulk Hogan should celebrate with his world champion. Roode gets on his knees and watches as confetti pours down from the ceiling, then he drinks some before rolling around in the confetti. Hulk comes out as Roode gets up, and he claps and says he is glad he didn't bet against him. He says he had the decked stacked, but he didn't realize how good Roode was, then Roode offers him some champagne. Hulk says he is glad he came out there, and he did things he didn't think were possible because he put in hard work.

Hulk says the hard work just started for him because he is their champion, and there is someone else who wants to celebrate with him. Roode says there is no one else, but the lights go out and Sting appears behind him, then he splashes Roode in the corner and clotheslines him out of the ring. Roode crawls up the ramp as Hulk says it's showtime, but Hulk says he shouldn't go anywhere because he has some news that will concern him. He says they have a new time slot and he has something Roode can't run from, and they will have a lumberjack match with Sting and Roode at the start of the show! Roode loses it and screams 'no!' on the ramp, then Sting and Hogan celebrate in the ring as Roode falls back on the ramp and looks disgusted.
