1/24 TNA Impact Wrestling Results – Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Daniels for the World Title

TNA Impact Wrestling
Jan. 24, 2013

Impact kicks off with a full recap of last week's wedding, featuring footage of after the show went off the air. Todd Kennely and Mike Tenay welcome us to the show; Taz is nowhere to be seen.

The Aces & Eights make their way down to the ring, being lead by Taz. There appears to be about a dozen guys in the group tonight, with Devon, Mike Knox and DOC being the only ones unmasked. Taz says that everyone's been asking him why he'd stab TNA in the back. He says life is about opportunity. How could he pass on an opportunity to be a part of a group of guys with a vision and a purpose? How could he pass on an opportunity to be part of a "higher power". He focuses on Dixie Carter, saying that his TNA contract is bulletproof, and if anybody puts a hand on him he'll own the entire business. Taz tells them good luck dealing with their freight train of destruction, and good luck dealing with their higher power.

After a commercial break, Christopher Daniels is backstage talking about becoming World Heavyweight Champion…of the world. Taz joins the commentary team, and Tenay lets him know they have some serious questions for him.

(1) TNA Knockouts Championship
Tara (c) vs. Velvet Sky

Tara spends a bit too much time with Jesse Godderz, and Velvet takes advantage, throwing her into the corner and hammering away with right hands. Tara escapes to the outside as we cut to a commercial break. As we come back, Velvet lands a running crossbody and tries for a pin; two-count. An Irish whip sends Tara to the corner, but she blocks a monkey flip and gets a snap suplex, followed by her signature standing moonsault. Velvet kicks out of a pin attempt at two and hits a facebuster out of nowhere, but Jesse is distracting the referee from apron. Tara tries to clotheslines Velvet, but ends up hitting Jesse in the process. The challenger with a roll-up, but Tara kicks out and rolls Velvet up in the ropes for a 3-count.

Winner: Tara
