Several TNA Updates: Al Snow Still w/ Company, Spike TV Happy w/ Impact Ratings, Details Behind Sorensen’s Release & More

According to sources, TNA's decision to cut Jesse Sorrensen was purely financial. Obviously, the company has been making a lot of budget cuts, and Jesse was getting paid much more than other production assistants. The 24-year-old Texan has been cleared to compete since last November, and TNA may have been keeping him on backstage as a means to compensate him for the life-threatening injury he suffered in February of 2012, in an X-Division match on Impact Wrestling.

There has been a rumor going around that Al Snow, who was recently removed from his job in talent relations, was released along with Bruce Prichard and D'Lo Brown last week. However, Snow is still with the company, and has taken on Brown's job as a talent agent for TNA.

PWInsider is reporting that while TNA is getting a lot of heat for their cutbacks and live event issues as of late, Spike TV is very happy with the numbers they continue to bring in on Thursday nights. Impact Wrestling helps draw viewers to their other programming, specifically Bellator MMA, which is a huge reason behind MMA icons King Mo and Rampage Jackson appearing in pro wrestling.

While Spike TV may not have issues with TNA management, it appears that many talents backstage do – especially among the wrestlers. Before last week's Destination X special, as we reported, Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett, along with several top TNA executives, gave a speech on working hard to get to the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel," encouraging everyone to do their best to help the company. However, many of the wrestlers feel they are doing all they can to help TNA succeed, and they are powerless to effect the recent financial issues.
