The Latest on Ric Flair Returning to WWE, Who Will He Work With?, WWE Surveys Fans on New DVD Projects

The Latest on Ric Flair's WWE Status

ric flairAs we noted earlier this week, Ric Flair is scheduled to undergo medical testing in Pittsburgh soon so he can be brought back to WWE TV in a more regular role. PWInsider.com has since confirmed reports of Flair planning to undergo testing, and his full-time status with WWE will hinge on the outcome of the tests.

In an update on plans for Flair if/when he returns, Flair initially requested to work with Dolph Ziggler, but that idea was shot down by WWE, and it seems more likely Flair will be paired up once again with The Miz.

New WWE DVD Project Ideas

According to PWInsider.com, WWE issued a new survey yesterday and noted they are considering doing DVD releases for Legends House, WWE Countdown, Total Divas season 1, The Monday Night War and WrestleMania Rewind. They're also considering the following DVD projects:

-Long-form biographies on the professional and personal lives of WWE talents, similar to ESPN's "30 for 30" series.

-One Man Show – WWE Legends tell intimate stories on stage, inspired by the one man shows of Jim Ross and Mick Foley.

-WWE Reveals – in-depth looks at controversial moments in WWE history including Jerry Lawler vs. Andy Kaufman, the passing of Owen Hart, "The Curtain Call" in Madison Square Garden with the Kliq, Mike Tyson leaving prison after a rape conviction to help WWE kickstart Steve Austin as a major star, the XFL and John Stossel being slapped by "Dr. D" David Schultz.
