Ring of Honor Champions Win IWGP Titles This Weekend in Japan, Matches Announced for Tokyo Dome on US PPV; Muta vs. Liger Being Teased?

IMG_3251Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish defeated Alex Shelley and Kushida this weekend at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “Power Struggle” event to become the new IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

O’Reilly and Fish – called “ReDRagon” as a team – are part of the talent exchange between Ring of Honor and New Japan. They will defend the titles at the Tokyo Dome show in January that Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling promotion is bringing to the United States on PPV. A 4-way tag team match was set up between the new champions, the old champions, the Young Bucks, and the team of Alex Koslov and Rocky Romero, which will most likely be one of the title matches at the Tokyo Dome.

Although we are still waiting for confirmation, following his match this weekend, Jushin Liger made mention of Keiji Muto (the Great Muta) in one of his promos. There is at least a possibility the two could face off one more time at the Tokyo Dome show.
