After being out of action since early November to film a WWE Studios film, Randy Orton returned to the ring at the big Madison Square Garden event this past Friday night. However, it was announced at a show on Saturday that Orton – who was backstage at the venue – was being replaced in the main event due to injury.
While we are still waiting on complete WWE Live results from tonight’s show in Hershey, PA reports are surfacing that “The Viper” did make an appearance and even competed in a match. While things can certainly change between now and tomorrow night, Orton is expected to appear on the 12/29 Monday Night Raw.
There has been some discussion about whether or not Randy was even injured at all. The same night the “injury” was announced, he did come back to participate in a run-in segment at the end of the show. What may have happened is that reports were prematurely posted online, and it spiraled into a big report that he was hurt, when in reality they could have just been keeping his participation to a minimum, which had been the case at most WWE Live weekend events prior to his time off.
We are still working to confirm what actually happened this weekend, but the bottom line is that Randy Orton was back in action tonight in Hershey, PA and is expected to be on Raw tomorrow night.
